What is Yellowstone like in the winter?
By Forinfos - 01/02/2026 - 0 comments
During the winter, Yellowstone National Park is cold, snow covered and icy. Many of the animals that call Yellowstone home are still active, and the geological formations that make Yellowstone famous are still accessible.
Yellowstone National Park is the first natural refuge of its kind. Established in 1872, it has been a draw for families and nature lovers all year round. There are opportunities to visit basins and geysers, plan cross-country skiing trips, take snowmobile tours and join ranger-led programs. It is advised that winter visitors to the park come prepared for the extremely cold nights that are common in the high Rocky Mountains.
