Who is the youngest person to have participated in the Olympics?

Greek gymnast Dimitrios Loundras was the youngest person to ever participate in the modern Olympics. He won a bronze medal at the age of 10 years, 218 days in the team gymnastics competition in Athens at the 1896 Summer Olympics.

Loundras competed in the parallel bars for Greece in the team competition at the first modern Olympics. He was born Sept. 12, 1885. As there were only three teams competing in the event, Loundras' team, the Ethnikos Gymnastikos Syllogos, was guaranteed a medal. At the time of his death on Feb. 15, 1970, Loundras was the last surviving participant from the 1896 Athens Games.
