Is 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 better?

Which version of Windows is better depends on the computer. A newer PC with a 64-bit processor can take advantage of the expanded memory usage in the 64-bit version of Windows 7, allowing more efficient multitasking.
In 32-bit versions of Windows, RAM access is limited to 3.5 GB of RAM. The 64-bit version of Windows 7 can use 4 GB of RAM or more if needed. The additional RAM allows you to run more programs at once without a decrease in performance and also allows processor-intensive programs like video games to run more smoothly.
An older PC with a 32-bit processor or necessary hardware that is not upgradeable to 64-bit must use the 32-bit version of Windows 7. A 64-bit capable processor is necessary to install 64-bit Windows, and 32-bit device drivers will not work on 64-bit Windows.
