Who is on the 50-dollar bill?

Ulysses S. Grant’s portrait is on the 50 dollar bill. He is the only president to appear on the $50 Federal Reserve Bank Note, as of 2014, although there are some movements to change this to Ronald Reagan.

Several presidents and political figures appeared on $50 notes before the Federal Reserve Notes were introduced in 1918. In 1869, United States notes featured Henry Clay. National Gold Bank Notes of $50 depicted George Washington. Legal Tender in 1880 depicted both Benjamin Franklin and Lady Liberty. Ulysses Grant started to appear on United States currency in 1913. Since then, his portrait has only changed slightly, with the most noticeable changes done to the border.
