What are acrylic nails?

Acrylic nails are artificial enhancements overlaid on top of natural nails to give length or strength to the natural fingernails. The most common artificial nail enhancement is traditional acrylic, which is a two-part system of liquid and powder.

The natural nails are cleaned and trimmed before an artificial tip is applied with a small drop of glue, to add length. A small brush is then dipped into a monomer liquid and polymer powder and applied to the fingernails, working quickly to blend the artificial and natural nails. The nails are given time to dry and then buffed and polished to finish the manicure.
