What activities does Adventure Island have to offer?

Activities at Adventure Island, a water park in Tampa, Florida, include water slides, pools, a white sand beach and kids play area. Other activities include volleyball, a splash zone and an obstacle course over water. The park also has a lazy river where guests float on inner tubes on a water track around the park. As of 2015, its tandem water slides include Aruba Tube, Calypso Coaster and Key West Rapids.

Splash Attack and Fabian's Fun Port are child friendly activity areas that feature climbing areas, water sprinklers and jets. Riptide is a high-speed slide that lets three guests race against each other down an enclosed tube slide that features a 55-foot drop. Runaway Rapids is a faux-mountain structure that features five water slides that twist through and down the mountainside. Two of the slides are family friendly, allowing younger guests to ride tandem with a parent. The other three slides are made for older guests and allow only single riders without life jackets or preservers.

Adventure Island requires all single riders to be able to control body position while moving through the slides. Park employees are allowed to help handicapped guests to stand while transferring from a slide to a wheelchair or vice versa, but the park does not permit them to lift guests for safety reasons.
