At what age can a kitten go outside?

A kitten should not be allowed to go outside until a week after it receives its first round of vaccinations, which are given when the kitten is approximately 13 to 14 weeks of age. A kitten should not be left alone outside until it has been neutered.
Neutering of a kitten is allowed once the kitten is 5 to 6 months of age. A kitten should also not be left alone outside until it is able to find its way back to the house without any help. Putting cat litter outside in designated areas is a good way to train a kitten where it is acceptable to urinate.
