Who makes the announcements for a school?

At most schools, the principal makes the daily announcements over an intercom system or loud speaker that is audible in each classroom. Some schools opt to allow students to make the announcements. Students may earn a spot as a guest announcer based on character awards, grade point average or participation.

Members of the school staff such as faculty, assistant principals, teacher aides and security personnel may also be responsible for making daily announcements. Some schools allow parent volunteers to make announcements or rotate the daily task between students, administration, staff and faculty. Daily announcers must speak clearly and pronounce words correctly to efficiently disseminate important information.
