Apply for social services by visiting a local government office, a local Community Action organization and select churches, and then submitting an application in person. In lieu of visiting face-to-face, online application is commonly available by visiting a state's official government website to complete and submit an application electronically.

In order to submit an application for social services, use available resources to determine whether eligibly requirements are met, gather documents to support claims of need, and choose a method of application. Face-to-face application meetings may require an appointment. Electronic application may require an applicant to create an account before the application process can begin.
