Where is the area code 613?

As of 2015, area code 613 includes Ottawa, Canada and other large cities, such as Cornwall, Elgin, Stirling, Pembroke and Winchester. It also covers a mix of large and small communities in eastern Ontario, such as Bancroft, Carleton Place, Smith Falls and Trenton.

Area code 613 was originally placed into service in 1947 as one of the original 87 North American Numbering Plan assignments. In 1953 it was split, along with area code 416, to form area code 519. It was split again in 1957, along with area code 519, to form area code 705. In 2010, area code 343 was created as an overlay to area code 613, and both serve the same area.
