The fictional character J.P. Beaumont was created by mystery author J.A. Jance. Jance has written over 20 novels and novellas in the J.P. Beaumont series.
The first J.P. Beaumont book was "Until Proven Guilty." It was written in 1985 and spawned numerous sequels, such as "Injustice for All," "Trial by Fury," "Taking the Fifth" and "Improbable Cause." Aside from the J.P. Beaumont series, J.A. Jance has written the Ali Reynolds books, the Joanna Brady series, the Walker Family Mysteries and a poetry collection called "After the Fire." Before becoming an author, Jance was a librarian, a teacher and worked in the insurance industry.
