Who is the author of the Safehold series?

The author of the "Safehold" series is David Weber. He is an American science fiction and fantasy writer. Several of his stories have naval themes and fall into the military science fiction genre. He often writes female lead characters into traditional male roles.

The Safehold series has eight books, as of 2015, including "Off Armageddon Reef," "By Schism Rent Asunder," "By Heresies Distressed," "A Mighty Fortress" and "How Firm a Foundation." Others in the series are "Midst Toil and Tribulation," "Like a Mighty Army" and "Hell's Foundations Quiver." The books are set in the 31st century in a world called Safehold, where a group of humans are hiding from an alien race called the Gbaba.
