Who is the author of the "Jack Reacher" series?

The author of the "Jack Reacher" series is Jim Grant, who writes under the pen name, Lee Child. The English crime fiction, mystery and thriller writer was born in Coventry, England, and he attended the same high school as J.R.R. Tolkien, the renowned author of "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings."

Grant wrote his first novel in 1995 when he was fired from his job after a successful career as a presentation director for a British television company. He began writing the novel with paper and pencils that he bought for $6, authoring the first book in the "Jack Reacher" series titled "Killing Floor." This book also won him the Anthony Award for Best First Novel.
