Who is real author of "Heat Wave" by Richard Castle?

The real author of "Heat Wave" has not been identified, as of 2014, but one theory points to Tom Straw. Hyperion, the publisher of "Heat Wave," has only shared one clue with its audience: the author has appeared on the Castle TV series.

Straw had a nonspeaking role in the fifth episode of the second season. In reality, he is a mystery writer who published "A Trigger Episode." The introduction of "Heat Wave" includes a reference to the "Tom Straw Mystery Writers Award," which does not appear to exist. Other authors who have appeared in episodes of Castle include James Patterson, Stephen Cannell and Michael Connelly.
