What is the average rainfall in the boreal forest?

The average rainfall in the boreal forest is between 10 amd 30 inches. Most of the rain falls during the summer.
The forest receives precipitation during winter, as well, but it falls as snow. The snow can become deep and the melt-off helps keep the forests damp during times of less rainfall. Higher elevations of the forest may see snow on the ground for up to nine months of the year. A portion of the precipitation in the boreal forest also comes from fog, though this type of precipitation is minimal. The fog lets little sunlight through, thus there is more precipitation than evaporation in the boreal forest.
