As of May 2014, the average salary of a licensed practical nurse in a school setting is $17.12 per hour, amounting to $35,610 per year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. These figures, however, portray the mean annual wages hourly and annually.
The actual salaries of licensed practical nurses can vary from one employer to another. Their duties are to monitor patient’s health, administer basic patient care, such as changing bandages, listening to patient concerns, reporting patient status to doctors and registered nurses and keeping records pertaining to patients’ health. However, these duties may vary depending on the state in which they work as well as their work setting.
