As of May 2015, author Nicholas Sparks has won several awards, such as the 2013 Family Choice Award for his Novel Learning Series and the 2009 Goodreads Choice Awards-Chick Lit for "The Last Song." He is a best-selling author of novels such as "The Notebook," "Message in a Bottle" and "Nights in Rodanthe." Several of his works have been turned into films.
Sparks began writing his first published novel, "The Notebook," in June 1994. The book was part of his plan to write three novels; if none of them were published, he would stop writing. The book became a best-seller. His latest book, as of May 2015, is "The Longest Ride," which was published in 2013.
