What does bathtub reglazing mean?
By Forinfos - 04/01/2026 - 0 comments
The term bathtub reglazing refers to the process of applying a new finish over the tub’s hard surface. The terms reglazing and refinishing are often used interchangeably, but they never refer to porcelain being applied to the tub.
Reglazing a bathtub can be done by a professional who first prepares the tub by applying an epoxy to rough, badly chipped or scratched areas and sanding them. A warm glaze composed of epoxies, polyesters, ground glass and sand is sprayed over the surface of the tub in several layers and bonds onto the tub surface. It takes 24 hours before the bathtub is ready to use.
