Do bats migrate?

Bats migrate when the food supply becomes depleted in their current environment. Bats often migrate to the same places; however, not all bats migrate. Some species of bats choose to hibernate when the food supply runs low.
Bats can be found in almost every region of the world, with the exception of the polar regions and exceedingly hot deserts. The diet of a bat typically consists of insects. A small brown bat has the ability to eat up to 1,000 mosquitoes in an hour, and serve as a form of pest control for humans. Other provisions in a bat's diet include nectar fruit, and small mammals.
