Do bears live in the rainforest?

Only one type of bear lives in the rainforest and this bear is known as the spectacled bear, or the Andean bear. It lives in several areas of South America.
The spectacled or Andean bear lives in Latin American countries including Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia and Peru. Most Andean bears live in the cloud forests and rainforests of these countries. These bears tend to steer clear of most animals and humans and live far up in the high altitude regions, where they are rarely seen. Unfortunately, due to deforestation, these bears are losing their habitats and are forced to find new places to live.
