A French breed of sheep-herding dogs, short-haired Beauceron puppies are gentle, intelligent, eager to learn and independent. Beauceron puppies may exhibit shyness with strangers, but they are loyal and protective with family members. Physical contact and mental stimulation is vital for their well-being.
Beauceron puppies need a dedicated, committed owner because they require consistent training and socialization. Kind, positive and firm training help to direct their exuberant personalities and strong-willed tendencies in positive ways. When full grown, Beauceron puppies measure between 24 1/2 to 27 1/2 inches tall at the shoulder. Beauceron puppies reach full emotional maturity at about 3 years of age.
