Door knocker earrings are large earrings that resemble old-fashioned door knockers in appearance. On a door knocker earring, a large ring or triangle shape is suspended below the earlobe from a piece inserted through the earlobe.

Door knocker earrings were popularized in the 1980s by various rappers and hip-hop artists. An old-fashioned door knocker consists of a part fixed to the door which is attached to another part, often a ring, that can be lifted and banged into the door to make a noise. Sometimes a strike plate is fixed under the ring to allow the device to make a louder noise.
