Are Bosch dishwashers energy-efficient?

As of 2015, Bosch dishwashers are very energy-efficient, according to both the DIY Network and Energy Star. The DIY Network notes that the Bosch SHX68E05UC, SHV68E13UC, SHE68E15UC, SHX68E15UC and SHE68E05UC models are a few of the most energy-efficient dishwashers on the market.

One reason behind the Bosch models' high efficiency is their ability to run a dishwasher load with only 1.5 gallons of water, resulting in an estimated yearly energy usage of 180 kilowatt-hours.

Bosch received Energy Star's highest honor of Partner of the Year for Sustained Excellence in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. The company lowered its factories' use of water by 51 percent between 2000 to 2010.
