Are LG dishwashers energy efficient?

LG offers many dishwashers that are Energy Star rated. As of 2015, 11 of the 12 dishwashers posted on the official LG website were listed as energy efficient.

Most of the newer dishwashers released by LG come with technology that makes the dishwasher up to 20 percent more energy efficient than the minimum rating needed to achieve an Energy Star certification. The technology, called a Direct Drive motor, not only allows the unit to operate more efficiently but also claims to reduce noise by a significant amount. When shopping on LG's official website for dishwashers, there is a tab on the left customers can use to sort between various options, including whether or not a dishwasher is energy efficient.
