How energy-efficient are Maytag washers?

The Department of Energy currently certifies seven of Maytag's residential washers as Energy Star appliances as of 2015, officially recognizing them as energy-efficient appliances. These units have Modified Energy Factor ratings of between 2.38 and 2.75

Maytag's most efficient front-loading washers compare well to even the most efficient residential washing machines on the market. The most efficient model currently rated by Energy Star has a Modified Energy Factor ratings of 2.92 and is estimated to consume 132 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. In comparison, the Maytag MHW5100D is estimated to use 109 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year with its Modified Energy Factor of 2.75.
