Is bubble wrap recyclable?

Bubble wrap made from polythene plastic may be recycled only if it is accepted by local recycling facilities. Since some of these facilities do not have the equipment necessary to recycle polythene, it is best to contact facilities before discarding bubble wrap into a recycling bin.

Bubble wrap can be reused for shipping or moving delicate items or for storage purposes when recycling is not possible. Bubble wrap may also be used to line planters or small gardens to provide additional insulation during the winter. If the bubble wrap is in good condition, donate it to local businesses that accept used materials for shipping or storage.
