What is a bush hog?

A bush hog is a rotary mower that attaches to the back of a farm tractor with a three-point hitch. Bush hogs are used for weeding, mowing and cutting vegetation.
Bush hogging is also referred to as "brush hogging," and it is used for farming the land to promote healthy field rotation throughout the year. Bush hogging keeps vegetation in order, weeds out of crops, and keeps land visually appealing. Bush hogging is only done in large areas or acres of land. A bush hog's blades are different from a regular lawnmower in that they are duller for dense plant maintenance, face downward to propel objects away from the machine, and are made of steel to withstand hitting rocks and stones.
