What is the "Buy One, Get One" deal at Publix?

The "Buy one, Get one," or BOGO, deal at Publix is a weekly sale that allows customers to buy one item at full price and get the second of the same item for free. In some states, customers can simply buy one item and get half off that item.
The way Publix handles BOGO deals is different in some states. In Florida, for instance, BOGO deals are considered "true BOGO." A customer must purchase two of the item to get the savings. In other states in which Publix is located, customers can simply buy one of the BOGO item and get it for half price.
