According to biblical texts, the term for the offspring of “the sons of god” and the “daughters of men” is nephilim. Many biblical scholars also believe the nephilim were giants.

The nephilim are mentioned in the book of Genesis 6:1-4 in the Bible. The nephilim are presumed to have died in the deluge described in the following verses.

There are several schools of thought on how the nephilim came to be. Some believe that the nephilim are the offspring of the physical body of a fallen angel and a human female. Others believe angels merely possessed the bodies of male humans and mated with female humans.
