According to AOL's Paw Nation, peanuts are safe for dogs in most cases, unless the dog has a peanut allergy. Peanut allergies can develop over time, so it is important for dog owners to contact their veterinarians immediately if their dogs have sudden bad reactions to peanuts or peanut products.
Celebrity dog trainer Cesar Milan explains that peanut butter is a good source of protein for dogs, as well as a good source of vitamin E, vitamin B, niacin and healthy fats. Cesar suggests filling chew toys with peanut butter in order to keep dogs busy while enjoying their favorite snack. Raw, unsalted peanut butter is a good choice for canines.
