Can dogs take Tylenol?
By Forinfos - 12/11/2025 - 0 comments
Dogs can safely take Tylenol under the direct supervision of a veterinarian. However, Tylenol and other over-the-counter pain medications are known to cause sickness and death when the incorrect dosage is given to dogs and cats. They should never be administered other than under the advice of a veterinarian.
Some of the complications associated with the wrong dosage of Tylenol in dogs include liver damage and red blood cell damage. An overdose of Tylenol can cause a dog's red blood cells to stop carrying oxygen. It can also damage a dog's kidneys. Always have a dog evaluated by a veterinarian for blood work before using Tylenol or other over-the-counter pain medications.
