What can you feed your Rottweiler/German shepherd mix?

The German shepherd Dog Club of America says German shepherds should be fed protein-based diets consisting of named meats such as beef and chicken. North East Rottweiler Rescue says that Rottweilers should also be fed meat-based diets. Therefore, a German shepherd/Rottweiler mix should be fed a meat-based diet.

German shepherds should not be fed diets that use corn or corn gluten as the primary protein source. Rottweilers should not be fed diets that contain soy, wheat or corn. Neither breed of dog should be fed diets that contain by-products, unnamed mystery meats such as "meat meal" or generic unnamed "animal fat."
