Can a human live on Jupiter?

A human cannot live on Jupiter. Overall, the average temperature on Jupiter is -238 degrees Fahrenheit, with temperatures at the core rising to an estimated 36,000 degrees Fahrenheit. A probe dropped into the atmosphere by the Galileo spacecraft in 1995 recorded wind speeds of 400 miles per hour.

In addition to the harsh conditions, the atmosphere on Jupiter contains very little, if any, oxygen, which is a key component to human survival. The atmosphere is likely hundreds of miles thick, and the planet has no real surface. As the immense pressure acts on the gases toward to the interior of the planet, the atmosphere probably transitions to an environment of liquid hydrogen.
