A watch that monitors glucose without a blood sample is available, but experts warn against the accuracy of this type of device, notes EverydayHealth. As of 2015, research is being done to find new methods of testing, but currently, there are no reliable options without a blood sample.
There are over 75 types of blood-glucose monitors available that have a variety of functions, according to EverydayHealth. Some require only 0.3 to 1.5 microliters of blood, which makes testing a less painful experience. Some blood-glucose monitors may be used on areas of the body that are less sensitive than the fingers.
