Dr. Seuss is most famous for his children's books, including "The Cat in the Hat" and "Green Eggs and Ham." Theodor Seuss Geisel wrote and published more than 60 children's books, and he also used the pen names of Theo LeSieg, Rosetta Stone and Theophrastus Seuss.
Born in Springfield, Mass., on March 2, 1904, Geisel graduated from Dartmouth College, where he was the editor in chief of the college's humor magazine. From there, he attended Oxford University in England before he dropped out and returned to America to pursue a career in cartooning. Before he wrote the children's book his cartoons were published in numerous magazines.
