Nosebleeds can be a sign of cancer called acute myeloid leukemia, according to the American Cancer Society. Patients with this type of cancer can develop problems clotting blood, which can lead to frequent nosebleeds if an individual's platelet levels fall below a normal level.
Nosebleeds can also be a sign of cancer in the nose, states WebMD. However, such occurrences are rare. If an individual is experiencing persistent nosebleeds, bleeding from other parts of the body, or feels dizzy or faint, then she should seek medical attention. This is especially true for individuals who are taking blood-thinning medications or who have a clotting disease such as hemophilia.
