Where can one see bald eagles?

British Columbia and Alaska have the largest concentration of bald eagles in North America. During the months of January and February, the Northern Mississippi valley becomes another great location for spotting these birds, as thousands of bald eagles spend winter along this river.

Bald eagles can be found in every state of the U.S. except for Hawaii. Aside from Alaska, these rare birds are most prevalent in the states of Florida, Wisconsin, Washington, Michigan, Oregon and Minnesota. Unless bird watchers are visiting an eagle observation deck, they should remain in their vehicles during a bald eagle sighting, so as not to scare the bird off.
