"Grand Theft Auto V" was released for Windows and personal computers on April 14, 2015. Players with legitimate copies of the game and computers that meet minimum requirements can play the single-player campaign. The addition of an Internet connection allows access to online multiplayer games.

Versions of Windows spanning from Vista to Windows 8 support the game, as of 2015. Other minimum requirements include a quad-core Intel or AMD processor, 4 GB of ram and a 1 GB NVIDIA or AMD graphics card, as well as 65 GB of free hard drive space. Any computer specs meeting or exceeding these requirements are able to run the game at medium-to-high quality.
