Can you recycle cooking oil?

Cooking oil can be recycled in a couple of ways; it is traditionally recycled by keeping it in a refrigerated container at home and reusing the oil to cook more than one item. However, another method has been developed to recycle cooking oil. Biodiesel companies have developed a way to covert cooking oil into biofuel, and some people are even making biofuel for themselves at home.

To recycle cooking oil it should be placed in a tightly sealed container. There should be no water mixed with the oil, and any bits of food must be filtered out. Local biodiesel companies have drop-off points to leave used cooking oil, or local restaurants will often accept used cooking oil to add to their own for recycling.
