Remove denture cream from your mouth by removing the dentures, then using toothpaste and hot water to remove any remaining cream. Remove the cream from the dentures using a denture cleanser. If you cannot remove your dentures easily, leave them in the mouth overnight as absorbing moisture softens the cream.
- Take your dentures out of the mouth
Hold water or mouthwash in your mouth and swish it around to loosen the adhesive bond. Grab the bottom dentures by the front and wiggle them to loosen the denture. To do this, press inside the front teeth up and toward the nose to remove the top plate. Leave difficult to remove dentures in place for a few hours, and then try again.
- Seek help in case of emergency
Avoid using anything other than the fingers to remove the dentures. Do not pry with the fingernails or other tools. If waiting does not loosen the cream, seek help from an emergency room or your denture center.
- Remove the adhesive from your mouth
Brush the gums, tongue and inside of the mouth using comfortably hot water and toothpaste to remove any remaining adhesive. Use a soft-bristled brush to avoid damaging tissue.
- Clean the adhesive from the dentures
