Where can you send cancelled postage stamps?

Cancelled stamps may be sent to the Sisters of the Holy Cross in Notre Dame, Ind. The Roman Catholic ministry prefers lightly cancelled stamps free of cuts, stains and tears with perforations still intact.

The charity's stamp program also welcomes uncancelled stamps, foreign stamps and collections. At least ¼ inch should be left around stamps when cutting them from the envelope. When they are received, the Sisters of the Holy Cross carefully remove the stamps from the envelope backing and sell them to dealers and brokers. The Sisters of the Holy Cross use the proceeds to benefit their ministries in helping those in need around the world.
