Can you still buy a manual car?

Many vehicles are still available with a manual transmission as of 2015, especially low-priced economy cars and sports cars. Examples include the Chevrolet Sonic, Chevrolet Corvette, Porsche Cayman and Mazda Miata MX-5.

Manual transmissions remain popular in economy cars since they are still cheaper to produce than automatic transmissions. A combination of tradition and better control over the car and engine speed keep manual transmissions common in sports cars. However, so-called automatic manual transmissions that use a traditional clutch in combination with computer operation are increasingly common on high-end sports cars. Many sports cars also offer automatic throttle rev-matching on otherwise traditional manual transmissions that matches the speed of the engine to the new gear without driver input.
