How can I tell if my kitten is a bobcat?

A bobcat typically resembles a lynx and is twice the size of a house cat. Bobcats have very distinctive features such as black bars on their forelegs and a black stubby tail.

It is not uncommon for a bobcat to breed with a house cat when given the opportunity. Bobcat hybrids or mixed breeds can resemble either parent but are generally larger than the largest breed of house cat. Bobcats are generally more aggressive than house cats and will mark their territory more frequently.

A bobcat's color ranges from brown to dark gray and has a stout face and a pink nose. Depending on its natural habitat, bobcats can range from dark to very light, and its spots help with camouflage.
