Can you use hydrogen peroxide to clean a carpet?
By Forinfos - 20/02/2026 - 0 comments
Hydrogen peroxide can be used to clean organic stains from a carpet. Organic stains include blood, food, pet urine and wine and other beverages. Hydrogen peroxide should only be used on carpets in the 3 percent concentration sold at drugstores.
When used at the 3 percent consumer-grade dilution, hydrogen peroxide is safe for most dyes and protective coatings on carpets. Hydrogen peroxide can safely be combined with baking soda and mild detergents in cases where odor removal is necessary. It should always be used in a well-ventilated area, even at 3 percent concentration, and should never be mixed with caustic cleaners.
