Can you use a National rice cooker to cook any food?

Not all foods can be cooked in a National rice cooker. This is true of other rice cooker brands as well. However, a rice cooker does more than just cook rice.

Several foods a rice cooker can cook are beans, cakes and quick breads. Water and seasoning added to dry beans results in a large batch for a family meal. Making quick bread or cake consists of cooking the batter until an inserted toothpick can be removed cleanly. Some rice cookers even have a cake setting. A rice cooker can also be used to reheat soup or steam vegetables and fish.
