A Buffalo Smart Cooker rice cooker can cook a variety of foods other than rice, such as soup, cakes, cookies, stir fries and breads. It is capable of steaming, boiling, pan frying, baking and more.

The Buffalo Smart Cooker features a timer with multi-function presets for a variety of cooking methods. As of 2015, Buffalo Smart Cookers are sold in 5-, 6- and 10-cup size. The more recent Buffalo Smart Cooker II is offered in addition to the standard Buffalo Smart Cooker.

The Buffalo website, buffalocookware.com, lists various recipes that can be made in the rice cooker, including Curry Chicken, Pumpkin Brown Rice, Mapo Tofu, Whole Wheat Nut Bread and Vietnamese Beef Noodles.
