Can you use weeping willow branches as rooting?

Weeping willow tree branches are easy to root, producing a beautiful replica of the "mother tree". Be sure to choose a branch from a healthy tree, and carefully select a site for planting that allows proper space and adequate water to sustain the new tree.
Weeping willow cuttings are best taken during the dormant season - late fall or early winter. Use a sharp knife and cut a strong branch between 1 and 6 feet long. After choosing an open planting site well away from the septic system, if there is one on the property, dig a hole deep enough to accommodate two-thirds of the cutting. Place the cut end of the branch into the hole. Water and fertilize well, mulching at the onset of spring.
