The easiest place to find the ZIP code for a specific church is at the United States Postal Service website's ZIP code online look-service. Enter a street address, and the ZIP code finder returns a correctly-formatted address as well as the ZIP+4 code.

The USPS's automated sorting equipment looks for the ZIP code portion of an address first; when this information is legible and in the correct place, a letter or parcel is sorted into the right category without delay. Letters that do not include a ZIP code, that are not legible, or that have incorrect information in the address may be delayed or misrouted, or possibly even lost in the mail.
