Is canola oil hydrogenated?
By Forinfos - 16/02/2026 - 0 comments
According to the World's Healthiest Foods organization, canola oil is sometimes hydrogenated in order to increase its stability, but both hydrogenated and non-hydrogenated canola oils are readily available for purchase. The best way to be sure if a bottle of canola oil is hydrogenated is to check its ingredient list.
The World's Healthiest Foods' website claims that non-hydrogenated canola oil is very healthy for the body because of its naturally low levels of trans fats. It claims that the level of trans fats is so low, many canola oils are classified as "trans fat free" on their labeling. The hydrogenation process increases the amount of trans fats in the oil, so it is thereby less healthy.
