Is hydrogen a metal?
By Forinfos - 28/02/2025 - 0 comments
At normal temperatures and pressures, hydrogen is a gas. It was one of the first elements created after the creation of the universe. It's the most plentiful element in the universe and makes up much of the matter of the sun.
However, there's a type of hydrogen that behaves as a conductor of electricity. This is called metallic hydrogen, and it's found as a liquid instead of a gas. Scientist believe that metallic hydrogen exists in gas giants such as Jupiter and Saturn. Metallic hydrogen can only be produced under conditions of extreme pressure such as that found in the interiors of these planets.
